Captain Cal RiggsMini Biography
Captain Cal Riggs was bornin Proxima II, the only son of a colony doctor whose wife had passed when Cal was ten. He had uneventful childhood and was preparing to go to Earth and Starfleet Academy when the Xindi attack. Bundled onto a refugee ship, Cal lost his father when Proxima was bombarded reptilian artillery prior to the arrival of the Planet Killer. On board the refugee ship, Cal met for the first time, Zak, Okaro, a young man who had lost his entire family in the destruction of Mars. For the next few months during their journey to Gaia, the two boys became close friends and this friendship would carry them through their eventual enlistment into Starfleet and later through their years of service. While they tried to serve together as much as possible, Cal was stationed on on the Excalibur during the Xindi War while Zak found himself on the Centennial, Malcolm Reed's ship. During the battle of Azati Prime, Cal had managed the successful evacuation of the Excalibur after it had suffered catastrophic damage which also resulted in the loss of its captain. Cal took charge and ensured as many of the crew left the doomed ship alive, sustaining a back injury that would take almost six months of painful rehabilitation for him to recover from. Following his return to active service, Cal was rewarded with the captaincy of the first constellation class warship, the NCC-001: Nemesis. His first order of business was to ask for Zak as his first officer. Pysch Profile: Cal shoots from the hip, doesn't believe in playing it safe and more often than not, is perfectly willing to challenge authority if he feels he is in the right and is quite the ladies man. He has an easy going manner, can be somewhat undisciplined and relies on Zak to kick his ass if he is being to obnoxious for his own good.

Commander Zaki 'Zak' Okoro First Officer
Mini BiographyZak was one of five children belonging to Adesola and Eshe Okoro of Mars Colony. His father owned a Nigerian restaurant and had hopes of teaching Zaki how to cook his native land's cuisine. Unfortunately, Zak was never much interested and interested learning and assumed one of his sisters, Chiku, Kamaria, Nuru and Sanura would take up the mantle of his father's expectations. Even though the restaurant was almost always in the red and sometimes making ends meet was a struggle, Okoro family was a happy one. On the day that the Xindi attacked, Zak had been out wandering the streets of the colony's less savoury area, wasting time with his friends. When the evacuation signal was given, Zak tried to make it home to his family, to join them in the exodus. However, he was swept into a refugee ship and was unaware of what became of them. When Mars was destroyed, he learned that his entire family had not been able to reach the ship and he was all that was left of the Okoro family. Falling into deep depression, it was only until he met Cal Riggs and developed a friendship with the also orphaned boy from Proxima that Zak began to recover. During the battle of Azati Prime, Zak learnt that the Excalibur had been destroyed and was terrified that Cal had been killed. When he learned his best friend had survived with a handful of survivors, Zak made it his business to be there for Cal during his painful convalescence. Following Cal's return to active service and his captaincy of the first constellation class warship, the NCC-001: Nemesis, his first order of business was to ask for Zak as his first officer. Zak was happy to accept. Pysch Profile: Zak still punishes himself for not acting responsibly that day on Mars when he should have been home with his family instead of wandering the streets of Mars and inadvertently escaping the destruction of the planet. Because of this, Zak forces himself to be responsible for his actions and his sometimes trying best friend Cal. While Cal is reckless, Zak is measured and composed, making him an excellent first officer for a captain who is sometimes known to be unorthodox.
